EMBODY ELEXIFIED

I was born Alexis Candace Greene, a name I revered with pride until the emergence of social media—and the beauty influencer era. Influencer era aside, the permeance of social media, unlike beauty, was undeniably infallible. The pressure to conform—and create a quirky user handle to encapsulate the character of your online persona—was insurmountable. After hastily workshopping a few names, I settled on “elexified”—a name which would not only come to represent a permanent moniker and persona of mine, but the embodiment of a temperamental, hard-to-grab-hold-of energy. Since it’s genesis in 2013, elexified has grown from a gentle glitch within the once-introverted matrix of Alexis to the unabashedly shameless, visual conduit through which long-hidden Lex was revealed. Through elexified, I have been able to fuse Alexis and Lex into a comprehensive aesthetic, a lens into the life of an infinitely infectious artist, from makeup artistry and photography to music and poetry. My goals for elexified are limitless—but start here with this website: a space for voice as a visual medium.
